Mental Health First
As a student at TSC, the Counseling Center provides a place to speak with an on-campus professional counselor in person, a virtual licensed counselor 24/7/365, and referral for psychiatry services. All counseling and psychiatry sessions are free to registered students.
*You must get a referral from the Counseling Center if you are interested in psychiatry services. Please feel free to contact us to schedule an appointment.
The Counseling Center's goal is to support your mental health needs. Our design offers you options, so let us help you connect in a way that best meets your needs.
Initial Consultation
Initial consultations typically last 30-45 minutes, longer if you are distressed.
Our goal for the initial consultation:
- Assess and respond to your mental health needs.
- Determine if you need additional support beyond the consultation.
- Help you with self-care and resources based on what you share.
- Work together to create a next-step plan supporting your needs and vision for what would be most helpful.
Highly trained, licensed counseling professionals, social workers, and licensed psychologists offer initial consultations. The nature of their connection with you will be typically for the intake process, and continued therapy services will be evaluated.
