The Wakulla Center is one of TSC’s “Two Gateways in Wakulla County,” serving the area since 1966 with workforce-focused education through the Wakulla Environmental Institute and a nearby service center. It is committed to providing accessible education programs and services to meet the vocational training and career needs of the local Wakulla community.

Healthcare Programs

The Wakulla Center provides accessible healthcare training programs to help Wakulla County residents begin their careers in secure and high-demand fields.

Marine Service Technology

Launch your career in marine maintenance, repair, and vessel operations with our immersive Marine Service Technologies program. Gain the real-world skills employers need to thrive in Florida’s thriving maritime industry:

  • Engine Diagnostics and Repair: Master maintenance for inboard and outboard engines, including both small craft and larger vessels.
  • Electrical Systems: Learn to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine electrical components.

Program Length: 1,350 Clock Hours (combination of lecture/skills labs)

Requirements: None

Program Tuition and Aid: Program is eligible for federal financial aid, along with scholarships

Course Offered Fall and Spring at:

  • Wakulla Center
  • Dual Enrollment

Program Cost: $3,604.50 in tuition and approximately $2,840.00 in lab fees.

Proctored Testing

The TSC Wakulla Center conveniently offers a variety of testing services.  Testing services include:

  • PERT Testing for College Admissions
  • TABE Testing
  • HESI-2 Testing
  • PAN (PSI) Testing
  • Access to webcam for HonorLock testing for online students
  • Distance Learning testing for students of other universities and colleges

The Wakulla Center offers the HESI-A2 Admission Test, which is the required entrance exam for all students applying to certain Healthcare Programs at TSC. To be considered for admission, TSC programs require a minimum score of 75 percent in each required section of the exam. The HESI-A2 requires 24-hour advance scheduling in order to guarantee availability. The cost for the HESI-A2 is $47, payable on-site.

The TSC Wakulla Center offers the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education). TABE tests can be scheduled Monday - Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. 

All tests require a minimum of 24 hours of advance scheduling in order to guarantee availability.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Financial aid and scholarships are available for eligible students. Visit the TSC Financial Aid & Scholarship office or access the scholarship application offered through Tallahassee State College.

Other payment options may be available to help you cover the cost of training.  

Learning Commons

The Wakulla Center Learning Commons is an extension of the Learning Commons located at the Main Campus. Services include:

  • Dedicated study space
  • Study resource guides
  • Tutoring
  • Reference documents
  • Medical tools
  • Writing style guides

Access is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tutoring is available by appointment only and is available for all classes currently offered through TSC.

Services for Job Seekers

The TSC Wakulla Center houses a fully equipped computer lab to connect Wakulla job seekers with the online job search process. Computers can be used to access online applications, develop cover letters and resumes, and find out more about training opportunities to advance your career. Staff is available to review your resume and offer tips and suggestions on improving your job search.

Need to train your workforce? Restructuring your organization? The TSC Division of Workforce Development offers services to help employers and organizations move forward successfully. We provide consulting, solutions, and specialized training to take your business to the next level.

If you have concerns about registration, receiving accommodations, or getting around campus, TSC’s Student Accessibility Services (SAS) Office is committed to providing the access you need to be successful.

Rebuild Florida Free Training

As a Florida resident, you may be eligible for free vocational training as part of the Rebuild Florida program. The programs included are: Construction Technologies, Commercial Vehicle Driving, and Drone Technology. Upon completion, students are provided with career placement assistance.
