Adjunct Faculty

Adjunct Faculty Positions are a key part of our academic community. These are non-tenure track roles filled on a semester-by-semester basis, depending on instructional needs. Adjuncts are compensated per credit or class hour for each course they teach, offering a rewarding way to share your expertise without a full-time commitment.

While these positions are non-benefitted, they provide valuable teaching experience, professional engagement, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students.

Part-Time Employee

Grant Employee

Grant employees are hired based on grant funding through our partnerships with the Department of Education, the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Florida Department of Corrections, and other agencies. As a TSC grant employee, you will enjoy the same benefits as other employees, with exceptions outlined in the grant award.

  • Grant employees are contracted and renewed on a yearly basis.
  • Salaries are determined by the grant funding and may or may not be negotiable, depending on the position and funding source.
  • Six-month probationary period
  • Leave accruals and payout
  • As a grant employee, you will earn 8 hours of annual leave and 8 hours of sick leave per month.
  • Leave payouts are determined by the grant award.
  • Tuition waiver

Classified Staff

Classified Staff:

At TSC, our Classified Staff play a vital role in creating a thriving, student-centered campus. These are full-time, benefited positions that offer meaningful work, professional growth, and the opportunity to be part of one of the best places to work in higher education.

We offer two distinct types of Classified Staff roles:

Classified Staff

These team members perform essential support functions that keep the College running smoothly. From administrative assistants to custodial and clerical staff, these roles are foundational to our daily operations and contribute directly to the success of our students and faculty.

Classified Staff/Professional

These positions involve oversight of specific College operations or the delivery of highly technical services. TSC is proud to be home to some of the most talented and dedicated professionals in higher education. Our Executive, Administrative, and Managerial/Professional staff are instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of the College and ensuring operational excellence across all departments.

These are high-level strategic planning, policymaking and management positions.  The duties of these positions include planning, directing, developing, organizing and utilizing College resources.  These positions are considered exempt under the FLSA standards.

Getting Started

Tallahassee State College uses an online application process for all employment opportunities. The steps below outline how to navigate the Employment Opportunities website and successfully submit your application.

All applicants must submit an application online to be considered for a position.

Internal and External Applicants

  • Current full‑time TSC employees must apply as Internal Candidates by accessing the Employment Opportunities website through the TSC employee portal.
  • Current part‑time employees and student workers, along with all other applicants, should apply as External Candidates using the external Employment Opportunities site.

Returning Applicants

  • Returning applicants should log in using the same account credentials previously created on the Employment Opportunities website.
    • Click "Apply" and select "Use My Last Application"
  • If you do not remember your login information, use the Forgot Password option to reset your password.
  • You must have access to the email address originally used to create your account in order to complete the reset process.

Application Attachments

  • Upload your resume and complete all sections of the application, including work history, education, and any job‑specific questions.
  • Some positions may require additional documents such as transcripts, certifications, or portfolios; these can be uploaded during the application process.
  • Applicants claiming Veterans’ Preference must upload their DD214 at the time of application.

Interview Process

If you are invited to interview, you may experience one or more of the following steps:

  • An email or telephone call from the hiring manager requesting an interview
  • A notification allowing you to self‑schedule your interview.
  • Interviews conducted in person or virtually through platforms linked within the system, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
