About Achieving the Dream
Achieving the Dream (ATD) is a national nonprofit organization that works with more than 300 community colleges to advance student success. ATD supports colleges in helping students achieve their educational and career goals by strengthening institutional practices that improve learning, persistence, and completion. Through a network of expert coaches and advisors working with colleges in 45 states and Washington, D.C., ATD’s work impacts more than four million students nationwide.
Achieving the Dream at TSC
Tallahassee State College has partnered with Achieving the Dream since 2004 to strengthen institutional practices that support student learning, persistence, and completion.
TSC was named an ATD Leader College in 2009 and earned the Leader College of Distinction designation in 2022. In 2026, Tallahassee State College was redesignated as a Leader College of Distinction, reflecting the College’s continued progress in improving student outcomes and supporting student achievement.
In 2022, ATD also honored Tallahassee State College with the prestigious Leah Meyer Austin Award, one of the organization’s highest recognitions for colleges that demonstrate sustained, institution-wide improvements in student success.
Leah Meyer Austin Award
TSC was honored with the Leah Meyer Austin Award in 2022, recognizing the College’s sustained leadership and results in advancing student success.
The Leah Meyer Austin Award is the highest distinction a college in the Achieving the Dream network can earn. The award is presented annually to a college that demonstrates a comprehensive, institution-wide commitment to improving student success.
The recognition highlights colleges that have built strong systems to support student achievement, including aligned policies and practices, a student-focused culture, and measurable improvements in student outcomes.
Leader College of Distinction
TSC was named a Leader College of Distinction by Achieving the Dream (ATD) in 2022 and redesignated in 2026, recognizing the College’s continued commitment to improving student success and strengthening institutional practices that support student achievement.
TSC is the first college in the state of Florida to earn the Leader College of Distinction designation.
