Building Construction Specialist (CCC)

The Building Construction Specialist Certificate focuses on providing students with fundamental knowledge of modern residential and commercial construction industries. Topics include construction management, computer applications and materials science.

The CAD Foundations Certificate program equips students with the knowledge to create and interpret both manual and computerized AutoCAD/Revit drawings.

Engineering Technology Support Specialist (CCC)

The Engineering Technology Support Specialist Certificate program prepares students for a national manufacturing-based certification (MSSC) exam. It emphasizes broad, transferable skills and covers engineering technology and industrial applications, such as production materials, quality assurance, engineering drawings, electronics, mechanics, instrumentation, and safety.

Welding Technology (CTC)

To prepare students to enter employment in the welding industry or continue their education. By successfully completing the program, students are eligible to receive an industry-recognized certificate, sit for American Welding Society (AWS) exams and receive an OSHA 1926 Safety card. The program is also aligned with industry-recognized certifications provided by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and the American Welding Society.

Welding Technology Advanced (CTC)

This advanced program provides a second level of technical training for graduates of the Welding Technology Career Certificate Program (5023A) program at TSC, or for graduates of another Florida state college or technical college welding PSAV program (1170 hours or 1050 hours).

This program emphasizes advanced welding skills in pipe and shielded metal arc welding, pipe fitting fabrication, and gas tungsten arc welding. It also prepares welders for emerging technologies, including, but not limited to, robotics, hybrid laser arc, and adaptive welding.

Program Length:
750 clock hours

Admission Requirements:

  • Graduation from a Florida state college or technical college welding PSAV program (1050 hours)

Introduction to Electrical (Pre-Apprenticeship/CTC)

This course provides lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice for basic electrical and residential wiring. Students will earn OSHA-10 and Independent Electrical Contractors Residential Wireman Certification.

Total Program Length:
350 clock hours

Admission Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old.

Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R) 1 (CTC)

The program prepares students for entry-level HVAC jobs or further education in the field. Students will receive training to become HVAC helpers, mechanic assistants, mechanics, or technicians. They will complete OSHA 1926 - 10-hour Safety card requirements in the first course and acquire skills for industry-recognized certifications, including Environmental Protection Agency certification and NCCER certifications.

Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R) 2 (CTC)

This program is for students who have successfully completed HVAC/R 1. It focuses on broad, transferable skills, stresses the understanding of the heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation industry and demonstrates elements of the industry such as planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, the underlying principles of technology, and health, safety and environmental issues. The program is aligned with industry-recognized certifications provided by the HVAC Excellence.

Note: This program will be offered at the TSC Gadsden Center in Quincy.

600 clock hours

Admission Requirements:
Graduation from a Florida state college or technical college HVAC/R 1 career certificate program (750 hours)

Commercial Vehicle Driving (CTC)

The Commercial Vehicle Driving Career Certificate program teaches a multitude of skills that prepare students for entry into the trucking and logistics industry.

Admission Requirements:

  • At least a standard high school diploma or GED diploma
  • Must be at least 18 years of age  (Please note students under 21 years of age must show proof of employment or intent to hire within the trucking industry, due to most employers requiring candidates to be at least 21 years of age )
  • Provide a 7-year Driving History no  older than 45 days prior to the first day of class which shows no major traffic violations (including the below) within that timeframe:
    • ​No DUI
    • No Careless Driving
    • No more than 6 points within 3 years
  • Complete and pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical Exam prior to the first day of class
  • Complete and pass a Drug Screen within 30 days prior to the first day of class

    • And 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. two Saturdays a month
  • Night Sessions (320 Hours) | 16 Weeks
    • 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. Mon - Fri
    • And 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. two Saturdays a month

This program is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid however, if eligible, you may qualify for VA benefits, other financial assistance, CareerSource funding, or participate in an alternative payment plan option.

Class A Refresher (CWE)

This course provides individuals with an opportunity to learn the skills needed to improve their driving quality and safety on the road. This course is aimed at those who are current Class "A" license holders with a time gap or limited over-the-road experience.  This course will cover pre-trip inspection, basic skills, and road driving in a Class "A" vehicle. Individuals who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Course Details:

Cost: $795 (testing fees for removing any restrictions not included)

Testing is available, if needed, for those who successfully complete the course.

Testing Cost: $325 (includes usage of the vehicle)

CDL Permit Prep (CWE)

This course prepares individuals to obtain their Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP), which is required before applying for a Commercial Driver’s License. The course covers general knowledge, combination vehicles, and air brakes. It is a self-paced online course that includes two live sessions with CDL instructors. Upon successful completion of the course, individuals will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Course Details:

Cost: $50 

Time: Online at your own pace with two one-hour live sessions determined by the instructor.

Hazmat Endorsement (CWE)

This online CDL hazmat test course is specifically designed for commercial motor vehicle drivers who are looking to obtain a hazardous materials (H) endorsement for their Commercial Driver's License (CDL). The hazmat endorsement is necessary for individuals who want to become hazmat drivers in order to transport specialized freight and explore new career opportunities in driving.
