TSC Heroes in Healthcare: Golden Mirror Awards
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Dental Hygiene Program at Tallahassee State College, the Foundation is proud to launch and present the Heroes in Healthcare: Golden Mirror Awards, a recognition event honoring outstanding alumni and community partners who exemplify the values of clinical excellence, community service, mentorship, and professional growth in our dental community.
This event will showcase our dental alumni, faculty, students, and community leaders to celebrate the legacy and future of dental hygiene in our region and recognize winners of the following awards:
Clinical Excellence Award
Honors dental offices that consistently support and mentor TSC dental hygiene students through clinical placements.
- Must have hosted TSC students for at least three academic years.
- Demonstrates excellence in clinical instruction and patient care.
- Actively contributes to student learning and professional development.
Community Impact Award
Recognizes a dental hygienist who makes a meaningful difference in the community beyond their clinical role.
- Engages in volunteer work, public health initiatives, or advocacy.
- Demonstrates leadership in improving oral health access or education.
- Serves underserved populations or promotes equity in care.
Rising Star Award
Celebrates a new dental hygiene professional showing exceptional promise and dedication.
- Must be within the first five years of professional practice.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuing education and community involvement.
- Shows leadership potential and innovation in practice.
Mentor of the Year Award
Honors a dental hygienist who actively mentors new professionals and students.
- Provides guidance, support, and encouragement to emerging hygienists.
- Demonstrates a sustained commitment to mentorship.
- Positively influences the professional growth of others.
