Tallahassee State College is proud to announce that the 2025 edition of the college’s art and literary magazine, Eyrie, has received ten awards in state and regional competitions.
In the Community College Humanities Association Literary Magazine Competition (Southern Division), Eyrie won first place for Best Photography for Caroline Booker’s “Sól,” second place for Best Artwork for Shauna Isaac’s “Levi,” and third place for Best Overall Magazine.
The magazine also received seven awards in the Florida College System Publications Association Contest. These include second-place awards for Corrine K. Catherine’s poem “Good Morning, America,” Jase Jeralds’ fiction piece “Forgive Me, Tree,” a two-page spread and cover design by Alana Cavanagh, and the Eyrie team won second place for its editing. Third-place awards went to Enzo Vieira’s nonfiction work “Rocks, Unbothered,” and to Katelyn Shuler’s artwork “All The Good Men Are Eaten.”
“I am overjoyed to see these remarkable students receive recognition for their extraordinary passion, dedication, and talent on this grand scale,” said Nicolette Costantino, a faculty advisor. “For the student magazine production team in particular, these are well-deserved accolades for a semester-long labor of love to showcase the work of their peers.”
The student production team will convene in January as a part of the literary magazine production course, JOU 2440L, to begin work on the forthcoming issue, scheduled for release in April.
