Starting a new job is a big step—and we want you to feel supported every step of the way. Your onboarding experience is designed to help you settle in, learn about our college, and build connections that make your work meaningful and rewarding.
What to Expect
Onboarding isn’t a one-day event—it’s a journey. It involves several steps and usually takes a few months to complete. This gives you time to:
- Get comfortable in your new role without feeling rushed
- Learn about our college culture, resources, and systems so you feel confident and informed
- Meet people and build relationships across campus that will help you succeed
Preboarding - Plan Ahead
To ensure a smooth and timely onboarding experience, please complete the following steps as soon as possible. These items will help us verify your credentials, finalize your employment details, and prepare everything you need before your first day.
- Book an appointment to complete the Level 2 fingerprinting process
- Complete and return the Preboarding Packet sent via DocuSign to your personal email address
- Submit required documentation to verify education and employment
- Confirm a start date with your manager and HR
- Review the benefits available to you as a new hire
Onboarding Journey
Starting a new role is an exciting step, and we want to ensure you feel supported from the moment you accept your offer. Onboarding is the process that guides you through everything you need to become fully integrated into your new role, the College’s systems, and our campus community. It includes completing required documents, learning essential information, meeting key personnel, and getting the tools you need to be successful.
To help you transition smoothly, please use the outline below to stay on track during the first days and weeks with us.
Before You Start
- Contact your manager to confirm your first day, where and to whom to report, as well as other expectations
- Set up your TSC account using the login credentials received from your manager
- Complete the onboarding tasks in your Workday inbox
First Day
- Meet with an Onboarding Specialist to finalize the onboarding process
- Provide your valid photo ID and physical social security card
- Verify that your name and contact information is correct
- Retrieve your TSC Employee ID card
- Receive an overview of Workday, Outlook, and the College website
- Receive an overview of the College policies and procedures
- Complete Data Security Training
Week One
- Verify that all the required trainings have been completed
- Verify that direct deposit information is complete and accurate
- Book an appointment with Benefits
First 30 days
- Attend New Employee Orientation
- Review your benefits to ensure completion
- Review withholdings and direct deposit information
- Explore campus resources and available trainings
New Employee Orientation (NEO)
As a new TSC employee, you are required to attend New Employee Orientation. This session provides important information to help you acclimate to the College, understand available resources, and feel confident in your new role. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet fellow new employees and ask any questions you may have.
Once your onboarding tasks are completed, the Training Manager will notify you when you are scheduled to attend Orientation. You will receive all orientation details—including date, time, and location—via email or calendar invite.
