Theatre TSC will present Pride and Prejudice this fall, with auditions at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 and 9 at Turner Auditorium. Performances are scheduled for Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 20-21 at 7 p.m., with a matinee at 2 p.m. Nov. 22.
“We have heard clearly how much theatre means to members of our campus and community, and we are pleased to move forward with Pride and Prejudice this fall,” said Dr. Calandra Stringer, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “We hope that enthusiasm translates into strong participation at auditions and full audiences in November.”
TSC had originally planned two theatrical productions for the fall semester. After reviewing student participation and the resources needed to support a successful production, the College determined that moving forward with one fall show would provide the strongest experience for participating students.
The TSC Foundation has committed financial support to help make the production possible.
“TSC has a longstanding commitment to the arts, both on our campus and throughout our community,” said Dr. Jim Murdaugh, President of TSC. “We are proud to provide opportunities for our students to participate in the performing arts and to support the organizations and events that contribute so much to Tallahassee’s cultural community.”
That support includes serving as the presenting sponsor of the Word of South Festival since its inception, as well as supporting Opening Nights, Southern Shakespeare Company, Gadsden Arts, and the Council on Culture & Arts (COCA).
