TSC Opens Nominations for 2026 Heroes in Public Safety Program

Tallahassee State College and the TSC Alumni and Friends Association are now accepting nominations for the 2026 Heroes in Public Safety Program.

The program recognizes dedicated individuals and organizations whose service, leadership, and courage have strengthened and protected local communities. Eligible nominees include individuals who have attended TSC, trained at the Florida Public Safety Institute (Pat Thomas or Lively), the Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education, or those currently working in the public safety field within the region.

Honorees will be recognized in one of the following four award categories:

Public Safety Hall of Fame – Honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service to their community.  

Lifetime Achievement Award – Recognizes individuals with distinguished careers marked by long-term leadership.

Chris Connell Merit Award – Celebrates exemplary accomplishments and acts of bravery in the line of duty, highlighting unsung heroes, incident awards, and young professionals.

Public Safety Partnership Award – Recognizes individuals or organizations from the private sector that have partnered with public safety agencies to address community challenges and enhance public safety.

The 2026 honorees will be recognized and celebrated at the Heroes in Public Safety Banquet on Wednesday, May 13, at 6 p.m.

Nominations are open to the public and must be submitted by Friday, March 13. The nomination form can be found here
