Advanced and Specialized Training Courses
The Florida Public Safety Institute is certified by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission to deliver all Commission-approved curricula to law enforcement, correctional, and correctional probation officers in Florida.
All courses presented by the Florida Public Safety Institute may be used to meet mandatory retraining requirements for Florida officers. Specific courses identified by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) qualify for salary incentives, and course tuition may be funded by state-allocated trust funds. The Florida Public Safety Institute supports the Region III and Region XV (State Officers) Training Councils. Individuals interested in attending courses that are not affiliated with either Region III or Region XV may be able to attend courses by direct payment of tuition.
Course Listing
Prior to attending any advanced, specialized, or instructor course that CJSTC regulates, permission must be obtained from the officer's or support staff's agency. Officers should contact academy staff for region trust fund training through their training staff or other representatives from their agency.
